Church of the Holy Sepulchre

incredible...

the groan and wail of the pipe organ is like a legion of falcons and flutes...candles ablaze at the mouth of a room housing the organ's belly...the cough of prayers...the ashen haze of incense and light...no one has to stop and say "this is sacred"...even the speech of the crowd is silent something about the clay-coated stone, the walls' blue and yellow and green with the bodies of saints, the coiling of the marble pillars holding everything up, is a call to worship.
